Motherhood can be the most rewarding job in the world, but it can also be the most challenging. Like many mothers, I’ve experienced the incredible joys that my children bring me every day. Unfortunately, I’ve also experienced the downside of motherhood - depression, anxiety, isolation and low self-esteem.

Journaling brought me great comfort during the tough times - when I felt a loss of personal identity and a disconnect to the outside world. Many of these moments occurred during my first two years of becoming a mother – a time of joy, but a time of anxiety, depression and confusion. I was a mother, but who was I really? I took many walks and did a lot of journaling during those early years, trying to make sense of who I was and what purpose my life served. And slowly, I started to connect the dots.

Aside from our roles as mothers, we are individuals with interests and passions. And we must be able to fulfill those needs in order to be the best mothers we can be. That’s why following our bliss is so important. It’s been this philosophy that has changed the way I live my life and it’s helped me to be the best role model I can be for my kids.

As a life purpose and creativity coach, I use a variety of journaling methods with mothers who desire a more meaningful and balanced life - filled with purpose, passion and creative expression. Together, we will pave the way to a more authentic way of living by exploring our creativity through the art of personal writing.

So here’s to us — as we embark on a journey to reconnect with our authenticity. Thanks so much for being a part of the Journaling Moms community!
